Non-life insurance in Kenya had a share of around 57 percent of the sector, considering the value of turnover generated. In fact, the value of gross direct premium in general business insurance was around 1.2 billion U.S. dollars, against nearly 900 million U.S. dollars in life insurance, which had a market share of 42.7 percent. Among the non-life category, automotive, and health insurance had the highest market participations at 20.4 percent and 18.6 percent, respectively.
