The Nigerian giant Dangote Group is one of the biggest multi-industry companies in Africa. It was founded by Aliko Dangote, the richest man in Nigeria as well as in Africa, at the beginning of the 1980s. Dangote Cement, part of the Group, is also the largest company traded on the Nigerian stock exchange market. According to the Nigerian company Nairametrics, between January and September 2020, the profit before taxes of Dangote Cement amounted to around 272 billion Naira, which is equal to over 660 million U.S. dollars.
