Gross direct insurance premiums in Kenya 2016-2020

The value of gross direct insurance premium in Kenya increased to nearly 233.1 billion Kenyan shillings (KSh), around 2.1 billion U.S. dollars, in 2020. In the preceding year, a value of approximately 228 billion KSh (two billion U.S. dollars) was registered. Overall, the amount paid by insured individuals and businesses has increased in the country. Kenya has a share of 2.2 percent in Africa's insurance market.
