In 2020, when asked what their current allocation position is for private equity, almost half of institutional investors surveyed globally stated that they are at their target allocation. A total of 45 percent of them stated that they were at the target allocation of private equity, while 36 percent of LPs stated that they had underallocated. The LPs that stated they had overallocated for private equity made up 12 percent of respondents.
