Projected lithium-ion battery capacity worldwide by country 2021-2025
It is projected that the global lithium-ion battery capacity will increase significantly between 2021 and 2025. At a capacity of some 944 gigawatt hours, China will remain the world's largest battery producer in 2025. China's dominance of the global lithium-ion battery market results from the country's large domestic demand, partly driven by growing sales of electric cars. In Europe, Germany will take the lead in 2025, with a capacity of around 164 gigawatt hours, followed by Poland and Hungary.
