According to a survey among Russian doctors from the end of March 2021, when only five Russians received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine per 100 population, the main reason behind the low vaccination rate was a general hesitancy among the population to get vaccinated against the disease. Furthermore, 46 percent of medical professionals believed that Russians distrusted domestic vaccines existing at that time.
