Arte is a public service channel based in France and Germany specialized in cultural programming. Both editorial subsidiaries produce televised content and programming intended for French and German audiences, generally available in both languages. In 2022, Arte's annual budget reached a total value of roughly150 million euros. Almost half of this budget has been allocated to the creation of programs that same year.
