Child pornography is pornography that depicts one or more children. It is prohibited and considered a criminal offence in France and in most European countries. Producing and distributing child pornography content is therefore illegal and punishable by imprisonment.
This graph shows the distribution of children represented in child pornography content around the world in 2019, by gender. It can be seen that while a quarter of the victims were boys, the majority (70 percent) were girls.
