Tanzania's banking industry registered a marginal increase in return on assets (ROA) in December 2019. The indicator was measured at 1.9 percent, up from 1.8 percent in September 2019. The change meant that Tanzanian banks generated slightly more earnings from their assets. In comparison to December 2018, ROE registered a higher increment. That month, the indicator was calculated at 1.1 percent, the lowest level in the period under analysis.
