Number of Kisan Credit Cards in India FY 2024, by leading state
In financial year 2024, nearly 11 million credit cards were operative under the Kisan Credit Card Scheme in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It was followed by Maharashtra and Rajasthan with over seven million and 6.8 million cards respectively. In total, 77 million cards were active that year, an increase compared to the previous year.
The Kisan Credit Card Scheme was introduced in 1998 by several Indian banks. Loans are combined with an accident insurance for farmers.
