Real Time Gross Settlement transactions amounted to approximately 1.7 quadrillion Indian rupees in fiscal year 2024 across India. This was an increase compared to nearly 1.5 quadrillion rupees in 2023. RTGS includes customer transactions, interbank transactions and clearing. It is mostly used for large value credit transfers. Thereby, RTGS transfers account for over 70 percent of the total value of digital transactions in the country.
