Main causes of death in Tunisia 2019
Ischaemic heart disease is the leading cause of death in Tunisia. In 2019, nearly 177 people per 100,000 population died because of it. As of the same year, stroke killed around 73 individuals per 100,000 people, while hypertensive heart disease was the third most common cause of death in the country, with a mortality rate of 24.1 deaths per 100,000 population.
