Main causes of death in Libya 2019
Ischaemic heart disease is the leading cause of death in Libya. In 2019, nearly 98 people per 100,000 population died because of it. As of the same year, stroke killed around 38 individuals per 100,000 people, while road injury was the third most common cause of death in the country, with a mortality rate of 21.3 deaths per 100,000 population.
