With the arrival of the latest wave of the coronavirus COVID-19 since May 2021 in Taiwan, the willingness to get vaccinated rose significantly. As of June 2021, according to a survey conducted in Taiwan, about 66.4 percent of the respondents would prefer to take imported vaccines at self-expenses, whereas 19.5 percent favor the respective domestic vaccines.
