According to a survey conducted in 2022 in Japan, two in three businesses engaged in overseas e-commerce stated that online distribution in foreign markets accounted for less than one percent of total e-commerce sales. Even though the Japanese e-commerce market grew continuously in the last decade, cross-border sales take up a secondary position in the domestic e-commerce market.
