Equity capital of N26 2016-2021
Equity capital of German challenger bank N26 increased sharply between 2016 and 2021. There was a particularly high increase in 2019, when N26 reported a total equity capital of 214 million euros, up from approximately 49 million euros in 2018. In 2020, equity capital opf N26 decreased, but 2021 brought another sharp increase. Equity capital refers to funds provided by investors in exchange for ownership shares. Many companies use this type of funding rather than borrowing money, because, unlike debt financing, equity capital does not require repayment.
