Most valuable sneakers sold at auctions worldwide 2024
In February 2024, auction house Sotheby's sold the so-called “Dynasty Collection”, a set of six Air Jordan sneakers worn by Michael Jordan, for eight million U.S. dollars. These shoes, worn by the athlete during the clinching games of the NBA championships between 1991 and 1998, became the most expensive sneakers and one of the most valuable Michael Jordan items sold at auctions to date. Another pair of sneakers worn by Michael Jordan during Game 2 of the 1998 NBA Finals, the so-called “Last Dance”, and Kanye West's Nike Air Yeezy 1 “Prototype” followed in the list, fetching roughly 2.2 million and 1.8 million U.S. dollars, respectively.
