Imported passenger cars in Egypt H1 2019, by origin
In the first half of 2019, the majority of passenger cars imported into Egypt were European. This coincided with the abolishment of customs on imported European cars as of January 1 that year. In fact, around 49 percent of the imported vehicles came from Europe. Japanese and Korean cars followed, with the import volume at 10,293 and 9,095, respectively. Moreover, the number of imported vehicles sold in Egypt reached 99.4 thousand in 2018.
