Gender violence comes in many forms, such as verbal, physical, and psychological. Among some experts, a form of psychological violence is the discrimination of women due to the expectations related to their role in society and the family. Women still have a much lower participation rate in the Italian economic sector compared to men, shown by low employment figures and high economic inactivity rates. Nonetheless, according to 70 percent of young Italians, women find themselves in condition to successfully work and be mother, despite Italy ranking just 19th out of 31 European countries with the most family-friendly policies.
