Young people's opinions on worst types of discrimination towards women in Italy 2020

Gender equality can be measured in various ways, for example, in terms of unemployment, pay gap, educational level, access to health services, and equal treatment in general. In a survey conducted among young Italians, the majority of interviewees indicated sexual harassment and violence as the worst form of discrimination towards women. Around 19 percent of respondents stated that the worst form of discrimination endured by women is their skills not being properly recognized. Similarly, 13 percent of young interviewees indicated economic discrimination, i.e., women get paid less than men for equal work, was one of the worst forms of discrimination.
