How Angolans accessed their bank account during the COVID-19 pandemic 2020
Despite movement restrictions due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, a large share of the Angolans surveyed visited a bank branch in November 2020. Nearly 90 percent of respondents cited going to a branch to access their bank account. The preference for visiting a bank branch was higher, although 82 percent of respondents had a Multicaixa card, which allows the use of Angola's interbank network of automated teller machines (ATMs). Only 20 percent of respondents used Multicaixa Express, an online application for performing banking operations directly on a smartphone, while 15 percent used a bank app.
