Barshi rural region in the Indian state of Maharashtra had mortality incidence rate of cancer cases among men of over 71 percent between the years 2012 and 2016. Whereas, the mortality incidence rate of cancer among women in that region was over 63 percent in the country.

Population Based Cancer Registries (PBCRs) provides cancer incidence rates, compares cancer incidences and patterns across other registries including different subgroups of populations in the respective areas.
Mortality incidence rate is calcuated by dividing the number of deaths in a given year relative to a certain disease by the number of new cases diagnosed for that same disease during the year and then multiplying that number by 100.
