In 2020, the surveyed micro-sized private enterprises in Vietnam laid off about 40 percent of their total workforce due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. In comparison, the surveyed micro-sized FDI firms in the country reduced around 22 percent of the total number of employees during the pandemic.
