In 2022, the total volume of traded securities in the Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) surpassed 130.3 billion units. This represented a drop from around 136.3 billion units in 2021. Since 2016, the number of traded securities fluctuated, reaching a trough in 2019 and a peak in 2021. Moreover, the number of listed companies in the EGX stood at 218, while the number of traded companies was 218 in 2022.
