Y-o-Y change in global electricity generation 2023, by source

Global electricity generation from solar and wind saw the highest absolute growth in 2023, increasing by approximately 307 and 206 terawatt-hours compared to 2021, respectively. This translated to a relative year-over-year growth of solar power generation of almost 25 percent. Solar electricity generation is expected to almost double in 2024.
