People in Finland informing themselves about good and services online, by age
The European questionnaire on Information and Communication Technologies Data reveals that there exists a disparity between the internet usage of people from different age groups. This disparity although present in most countries, differs widely in its severity.
In 2020, 88 percent of people between 16 and 24 responded that that they used the internet to research information about goods and services online, five percent more than this age group across the EU-27. 92 percent of users in Finland aged between 25 and 34 relied upon the internet to find such information. While 91 percent of users between 35 and 44 responded that they used the internet to inform their purchasing decisions, 87 percent of users between 45 and 54 years of age relied on the internet for this purpose. The oldest group, aged between 55 and 64, was least likely to research goods and services online.
