The majority of Japanese consumers shop for non-grocery items in physical stores at least once a week as revealed in a survey conducted in June 2021 by Rakuten Insight. While 28 percent of respondents in Japan visited offline channels once a week to buy non-groceries, a similar share visited physical stores several times a week.
