As of the first quarter of 2022/2023, the value of foreign direct investment (FDI) outflow from Egypt stood at 3.4 billion U.S. dollars. Moreover, the outflow of FDI from the country was 13.2 billion U.S. dollars in 2021/2022. This presented an increment from 8.7 billion U.S. dollars compared to the prior year. Since 2014/2015, FDI from the country was relatively stable before growing by around 50 percent in 2018/2019. The value of FDI inflows into the country reached 22.2 billion U.S. dollars in 2021/2022.
