Oil liquids demand in China fell across all major fuel types in 2020. As the coronavirus pandemic impacted transportation, road fuel demand fell to 5.6 million barrels per day in 2020, down from 6.1 million barrels in 2019. However, demand is expected to increase again in 2021 and set to succeed 2019 levels. Demand in China is forecast to see greater growth rates than global oil liquids demand.
