Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, and India appear to be the biggest markets in which third-party apps are used to make voice calls, with roughly five in ten respondents based in Indonesia using this function very often. By comparison, respondents based in the United States, Denmark, and Sweden appear to be the least interested in using apps to make phone calls.

According to the source: "The data is based on the interviews of adults aged 18 and over in 17 markets with sample sizes varying between 415 and 1,389 for each market. All interviews were conducted online in April 2021. Data from each market uses a nationally representative sample apart from Mexico and India, which use urban representative samples, and Indonesia and Hong Kong, which use online representative samples."
