In March 2021, male internet users in Italy spent 20 percent of their online time using entertainment services, while female users spent only 17 percent of their time in the same category. By comparison, female users spent more time on social networks and instant messaging than male users. Time spent on online gaming outlets also saw female users engaging more of their online time than male users.
