Commercial property investment volume in the UK Q1 2018-Q1 2023
In 2022, the value of commercial real estate transactions in the United Kingdom reached almost 62 billion British pounds, which was a slight decline from the previous year, but still the second-highest figure recorded in the past five years. In the first quarter of 2023, investment activity slowed down and the value of transactions fell to 8.1 billion British pounds. That was less than half of the investment value in the same quarter the year before and the the third-lowest quarterly figure recorded during the period under observation. The suppressed investment activity can be explained with the overall economic uncertainty due to inflation and the stricter monetary policy.
