In March 2020, the online audience of entertainment and news websites in Italy grew weekly, as a response to the coronavirus outbreak in the country. One year later, the entertainment and news categories still held a large number of unique visitors. In March 2021, the sports category registered a timid year-over-year increase of seven percent, arriving at 31.1 million unique visitors.
