Biotech enterprises in Spain 2020, by region
In 2020, the number of biotechnology companies in Spain totaled 862 firms, most of which were micro, small, and medium enterprises. That year, Catalonia ranked as the autonomous community with the highest number of biotech enterprises in Spain, with a total of 209 firms. Madrid followed with 151 registered biotech enterprises.
