As of 2020, the most popular property insurance in China was auto insurance. Around 41 percent of respondents from an insurance consumer survey stated that they had bought car insurance in the past. Other popular types of property insurances include freight return insurance, flight delay insurance, and household insurance.
Most popular types of property insurance policies in China in 2020
The survey included respondents from 18 provinces, autonomous regions, and cities covering the northeast, north, east, south, central, northwest, and southwest parts of China. All these seven regions were consistent with previous surveys.
The survey was based on a total of 1,072 valid samples, 531 from the life insurance questionnaire and 541 from the the property insurance questionnaire.
