Share of people uploading self-created content in Portugal 2020, by age
The European questionnaire on Information and Communication Technologies Data reveals that there exists a disparity between the internet usage of people from different age groups. This disparity although present in most countries, differs widely in its severity.
In 2020, 64 percent of users in Portugal between 16 and 24 years uploaded self-created content, like videos, photos, music, or texts. This share decreases among older user groups only users between the age of 25 and 34 were one percent more likely to upload self-created content. Only, 57 percent of people between 35 and 31 did so in 2020. The share of people between 45 and 54 were even lower with only 37 percent. The lowest share of users to use the internet in this manner can be found among 55 and 64-year old’s among which 20 seven percent shared their own content online.
