Finland: COVID-19 vaccination rate by region 2023

As of February 28, 2023, around 79 percent of the Finnish population had received at least one coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine dose, while 76 percent were vaccinated twice. The region with the highest share of the population vaccinated against COVID-19 nationally was East Savo, followed by South Karelia and South Savo. The highest number of COVID-19 vaccinated people in Finland was recorded in the capital region of Helsinki and Uusimaa.

The coronavirus vaccination rollout started on December 27, 2020 with the BioNTech–Pfizer vaccine. Coronavirus vaccination is offered to everyone aged five or older who is willing to take the vaccine. According to the vaccination order in Finland, COVID-19 vaccinations were first offered to social and healthcare personnel with a higher risk of exposure, risk groups, and those aged 70 years or older.
