Paid a bribe to obtain medical care in Southern Africa 2018-2020, by country
Among the four countries, Angolans had the highest proportion of individuals needing to pay a bribe to get access to medical care, with 19 percent claiming they had to bribe or do a favor to a health worker or hospital staff a few times and often. 14 percent, on the other hand, did so once or twice. Moreover, smaller proportions of Basotho and Batswana reported the need to paying a bribe to obtain healthcare.
