During a 2020 survey fielded in Chile, 13 percent of responding GenZers –at then aged between 16 and 23 years– said they were very familiar with 5G technology. Among respondents aged 39 and older, that share stood below ten percent. Around 24 percent of respondents aged between 16 and 38 years stated that they were unfamiliar with the term "5G," while almost 30 percent of participants aged 74 and above stated the same. It was forecast that, by 2025, 5G connections in Chile would account for eight percent of all mobile connections in that South American country.
