In 2020, the amount of time viewers spent on watching general entertainment content on television in India grossed just under 500 billion viewing minutes per week. This made the genre the most watched followed by the movies and news genres. As a whole viewers in India spent 999 billion minutes on watching TV in 2020 which was a nine percent increase from the previous year.
