Reasons for borrowing money among multi-person households in Japan 2022
According to a survey conducted between June and July 2022, around 47.8 percent of surveyed households in Japan consisting of two or more persons had borrowed money for the acquisition, extension, or reconstruction of a home. Around 20.3 percent of the households stated that they had borrowed money for daily living expenses.
