Confirmed malaria cases in Africa 2022, by country

Africa is the region most affected by malaria in the world. Over 192.3 million cases of the disease were reported in the continent in 2022. From a country perspective, the Democratic Republic of the Congo registered the highest number of cases, some 27.3 million, followed by Nigeria, with 23.1 million cases. Overall, the total number of reported deaths due to the disease in Africa was around 91,300 as of 2022.
