Leading neobank individual funding rounds worldwide 2020-2023
Challenger banks have been expanding in recent years, attracting an increasing volume of funding from investors to develop their business. In 2020, the U.S.-based Chime boasted the highest value of capital raised in an individual funding round, which amounted to 534 million U.S. dollars. The following year, both Chime and Nubank topped their previous highest individual funding rounds, Chime with 750 million U.S. dollars, and Nubank with 1150 million U.S. dollars. Nubank received further funding in 2022 and 2023, along with Neon.
