Around 85 percent of respondents to a survey on post digitalization of homestays in India from 2019 to 2020 stated that they got support from online travel platforms and government websites to promote homestays. Furthermore, 40 percent of the respondents stated they used social networking sites to promote homestays in the country.
Homestay is a mode of hospitality whereby guests stay at a private residence. The length of stay as well as the size of the accommodation vary.
