Enforcing contracts in Egypt required, on the other hand, more time and higher costs, with the court system being less efficient than in the other countries of the region. The enforcing contracts indicator determines, among other elements, the attractiveness of a country's business environment. Where a score is high, commercial disputes can be resolved more easily and faster.

"The enforcing contracts indicator measures the time and cost for resolving a commercial dispute through a local first-instance court, and the quality of judicial processes index, evaluating whether each economy has adopted a series of good practices that promote quality and efficiency in the court system."
