There is an ongoing debate in the United States about whether transgender men should be allowed to play men's sports and compete against other male athletes. Current National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules state that transgender men can participate in men’s sports after undergoing testosterone treatment. During an April 2021 survey in the United States, 49 percent of respondents affiliated with the Republican party strongly opposed the idea of allowing transgender boys or men to compete against other male athletes at college level.
