Revenue of the South African box office 2019-2021
In 2021, the revenue of the South African box office increased to around 19 million U.S. dollars, compared to 16.3 million U.S. dollars in 2019. This was linked to closures in the cinemas in South Africa due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the subsequent restrictions that took place in the country since March 2020.
