Electricity generation from fossil fuels in Africa 2010-2022
In Africa, nearly 676 billion kilowatt hours of electricity were produced from fossil fuels in 2022. This represented an increase from 2021 when slightly over 672 billion kilowatt hours of electrical power were generated from the fuels. Overall, except for the slight decrease registered in 2020, electricity production from fossil fuels followed an upward trend in the continent.
