In terms of product categories, the online spending on grocery products did not differ significantly from brick & mortar sales in Italy. However, data from the first quarter of 2021 based on main grocery retailers showed that personal care products performed better in e-commerce, accounting for 15.3 percent of the total online sales value. The equivalent figure for brick & mortar channel amounted to 8.4 percent.
