Kenya registered some 94.6 thousand students enrolled in private universities in the academic year 2020/21. The number decreased from 96.6 thousand in 2019/20, which was the highest since 2013/14. On the other hand, the number of people enrolled in Kenyan public universities increased, exceeding 489 thousand in 2020/21
